Cambodia, Israel forge deeper agricultural ties in high-level talks

Cambodia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, met with the Israeli Ambassador to Cambodia, Alona Fisher-Kamm, on Tuesday to advance bilateral cooperation in agriculture, with a focus on technology transfer and student training.

During discussions at the Ministry, Tina underscored the value of Israel's ongoing partnership and called for expanding its internship programmes for Cambodian agriculture students. He emphasised the need to ensure participants receive not only comprehensive technical and practical training but also the highest standards of safety and welfare.

The Minister identified agricultural research and technology development as key areas for deeper collaboration. He proposed leveraging Cambodia's network of three agricultural education institutions and the Royal Academy of Agricultural Sciences to facilitate knowledge exchange and the adoption of innovative practices.

"Enhancing the transfer of modern technology and expertise is crucial for boosting our agricultural productivity," Minister Dith Tina stated, noting that such cooperation would deliver mutual benefits to both nations.

He further requested that Israel maintain its focus on the well-being of Cambodian students currently enrolled in agricultural training programmes within the country. AKP
