UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -- Prince George's County vocalist Leticia Soul has built her sound on one simple principle -- you have to feel it. From singing in her church choir at age 5 to listening to her grandmother's soul-heavy radio playlists, music has always been the place where she leads with emotion first.
Growing up in Temple Hills shaped her style and her character. "You needed a backbone around here," she says, reflecting on a community rich with culture and creativity. That foundation carried her through early auditions for "American Idol" and "The Voice," experiences that pushed her to double down on authenticity. "It made me stronger. I learned the industry isn't always about talent -- but that doesn't define my worth."
Her career took off after collaborating with fellow PG artist K-Quick and joining Beats Bars and Faith (BBF). Since then, her music has surpassed 120,000 Spotify streams and 250,000 streams worldwide, marking a steady rise grounded in hard work and self-belief.
Soul's favorite performance to date happened here at home -- opening for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at The Fillmore in Silver Spring. "It was the most exciting performance of my life. I was honored," she says.
As she looks ahead, Leticia prepares to release "Now or Never (Reincarnated)" -- a refreshed version of her debut EP -- followed by her first full album, "Alchemy," with the lead single arriving in early 2026.
Her message to young PG County artists is simple:
"Trust your intuition. Your vision isn't meant for everyone -- so go for it regardless."
