A series of elections are being held to elect new members to the Party's Executive Committee.

"This forms part of the Administrative General Council, themed Dan hu l-Mument which will convene over the weekend and reach its peak with the address by PN Leader Alex Borg on Sunday," the PN said in a statement.

On Wednesday voting took place for the election of District Representatives of the PN Sectional Committees and the PN Local Councillors to the PN's Executive Committee. On Friday voting will take place to elect 18 representatives of the General Council to the Executive Committee.

The PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission announces the results of the elections held on Wednesday as follows:

Election of Local Councillors Representatives to the Executive Committee

District 8 Anthony Dalli (first year), Pierre Sciberras (second year)

In the case of District 8, both candidates obtained an equal number of votes and an agreement was reached for one to serve during the first year and the other during the second year.

Election of Sectional Committee Representatives to the Executive Committee

"Following yesterday's election of one Local Councillor representative and one Sectional Committee representative for each district, only Friday's election for the General Council representatives remains for the process to be complete."

"In Friday's election, General Council members will vote to elect six (6) male representatives, six (6) female representatives, four (4) youth representatives and two (2) representatives from Gozo for a total of 18 representatives. Altogether, 34 candidates are contesting across these four lists."

Voting will take place on Friday at the PN Headquarters in Pietà (Malta) between 12pm and 9pm, and at the PN Sub-Headquarters in Ta' Sannat (Gozo) between 12pm and 7pm, the party said. "Councillors may vote at either location according to their preference, without the need for prior notice. The vote count will take place on the same day and the official result will be announced on Sunday during the final session of the General Council."

The PN Electoral Commission reminded members that to vote in this election, they must present their Identity Card in order to receive their ballot sheet. Each PN Councillor is entitled to cast a separate vote for each of the four lists.
