Two police officers have been hospitalised this afternoon, after a police car flipped on its roof on A127. The single vehicle collision happened in Southend as officers were responding to an incident today (October 14).
The police car is currently blocking the road, three hours after the incident at 12.55pm. The junction at Victoria Avenue and Great Eastern Avenue was closed by police as emergency services attended the scene.
Essex Police confirmed to Essex Live that the incident involved a single vehicle. Photographs at the scene show a marked police car on its roof.
East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that two people were taken to hospital following the crash, which involved one single vehicle. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just before 12.55pm to a road traffic collision on Victoria Avenue in Southend.
"Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene. Two patients were transported to Southend University Hospital for further treatment."
