Kate Beckinsale may have just shared the craziest story on a late night talk show ever.
The actress was a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Monday night, where she claimed her daughter's boyfriend laid two eggs.
What?
Beckinsale was explaining that her family had a hard time recently with the death of both of her parents and the "only bright spot" came from him.
"He laid two eggs in a week is what the bright spot was," she added.
Kimmel tried to clarify, asking if it was a British phrase or something else, but Beckinsale said it was something he told her.
"He said, 'I've laid an egg.' And I was like, 'OK, you're trying to pull focus off the cancer.' But it had a shell and a yolk."
As all of us would, Kimmel replied, "Hold on a second. An egg came out of his body?"
"Yes," Beckinsale insisted, adding, "Not out of his mouth or ears, it came out the route that it would come out of a hen. Well, not his vagina. He went to the bathroom and was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg."
Bizarre as the incident was, Beckinsale actually welcomed the distraction from her grief.
"The first time it happened, he was genuinely scared, and he was like, 'It's got a full shell, it's got a yolk, it's the size of a bird,'" she said confirming that he crushed it to see what was inside, saying it was "hard boiled" and it was "like it cooked inside him."
The "Underworld" star thought at first the boyfriend had "embellished" the story and sort of brushed it off until her daughter texted her that the boyfriend had done it again on a flight to New York.
Kimmel asked if she really believed what he was saying, to which she said, "I did because he was so scared!"
She did ask if it was some kind of "attention-seeking" behavior and was, perhaps, inserting the eggs himself.
To prove her claim, Beckinsale showed only Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo the photo from the flight, describing it was too "medical" to show the audience.
Based on Kimmel's astounded reaction and "What in the world?" it seems her daughter's boyfriend is really some kind of medical marvel.
Beckinsale did reach out to doctors, who claimed it was a sexual activity thing, but she insists it wasn't, and he wasn't on any kind of sleep medication that would prompt him to eat strangely, and he hadn't.
"So it's my favorite thing he's ever done, and I really like him anyway," Beckinsale concluded.
