LT4-Powered 1968 Chevy Camaro Leaves No Stone Unturned

The right attention to detail can transform an impressive build into something spectacular. It's the sort of thing where more and more is revealed the harder you look, a nod to just how much work actually went into its creation. This LT4-powered '68 Chevy Camaro is definitely one of those builds.

Nicknamed "Rhodium" after a rare precious metal with a silvery appearance, this 1968 Chevy Camaro was built by East Bay Muscle Cars and is now owned by Kent Matranga of the Matranga Collection. The Metranga family has been collecting and curating exceptional vehicles for decades now, and Rhodium stands out even among their impressive lineup. Originally unveiled at the Goodguys Pleasanton show, the car went on to become one of Goodguys' Top 12 award winners the following year.

The exterior is a thorough reimagining of the classic 1968 Chevy Camaro shape. Nearly every panel has been touched or customized, with the front fascia and lower valance 3D-printed, integrating LED lighting and a functional hood vents. Both the front and rear fenders are widened to fit massive 19-inch wheels with 305-series tires up front and 335s in the rear. The rear features a 3D-printed diffuser, a custom panel around the taillights, and a slick motorcycle-style pop-out fuel filler.

Under the hood lies the potent LT4 V8 engine, which was outfitted with a new Procharger blower and now makes an estimated 800 horsepower. The engine also sits way back in the bay, with a custom 3D-printed intake cover and matching details throughout. Power is sent through a six-speed manual transmission to a fully independent rear suspension. The chassis and suspension are provided by Chris Alston's Chassisworks.

Inside, this Chevy Camaro features a DJ Designs custom interior finished in black and red, blending luxury with modern functionality. Every element, from the stitching to the panel alignment, shows meticulous craftsmanship.

Despite its show-car looks, the Rhodium Chevy Camaro was built to be driven. Kent has already logged a few hundred miles on it, with LT4 emitting a rumble on the throttle while still maintaining a civil experience behind the wheel.
