Dodgers 40-Man Roster Assessment For 2024 Offseason: Arbitration, Free Agents & More

The Los Angeles Dodgers won their eighth World Series title in franchise history and now have shifted focus to what should be another busy offseason.

The team has 36 players under team control for the 2025 season and seven who are currently free agents. That leaves four open spots to add players in free agency and through the trade market.

The Dodgers have made just one addition involving their 40-man roster thus far, which was adding prospect Jack Dreyer to protect him from the upcoming MLB Rule 5 Draft.

Meanwhile, Brent Honeywell and Zach Logue were non-tendered, which made them free agents and removed both pitchers from the Dodgers' 40-man roster.

The MLB offseason is still in the early stages and the expectation remains that the Dodgers will be quite active.

Starting pitching should be a high priority for L.A. as they dealt with a multitude of injuries during the 2024 season.

While Shohei Ohtani, Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin are expected to return to the mound next year, the team saw Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty and Clayton Kershaw become free agents. Though, Kershaw has already confirmed that he will be back with the club in 2025.

The Dodgers also figure to be in the market for an outfielder as Teoscar Hernández reached free agency. They could easily re-sign him or attempt to swing for the fences with Juan Soto, who is the biggest name available by far.

The Dodgers will also need to address their bullpen as Daniel Hudson retired, while Joe Kelly and Blake Treinen reached free agency. Another possible area of focus is shortstop, although the other aforementioned positions are more important.

Relief pitchers: Anthony Banda, Brusdar Graterol, Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia

Starting pitchers: Nick Frasso, Landon Knack, Bobby Miller, River Ryan, Emmet Sheehan, Gavin Stone, Justin Wrobleski

Relief pitchers: Ben Casparius, Jack Dreyer, Michael Grove, Edgardo Henriquez, Kyle Hurt
