Seven EU member state leaders have called for swift action on a proposal to use frozen Russian assets to financially assist Ukraine. They emphasize the moral and strategic importance of supporting Ukraine's fight for freedom and independence through reparation loans utilizing these assets.

On Monday, leaders from seven European Union member states pressed the EU to expedite a proposal to deploy frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's financial aid.

The letter, addressed to EU Council President Antonio Costa and Commission's President Ursula von der Leyen, stressed that supporting Ukraine's quest for freedom is a moral duty and serves the EU's interests.

They urged to proceed promptly on utilizing Russia's immobilized assets for a reparations loan aimed at supporting Ukraine.
