East Bay pets of the week for Nov. 8

Aloha, I'm Meli, a sweet, playful 6-month-old terrier mix all the way from Hawaii's Big Island, ready to join my new mainland family! I love being active, so bring on the puppy toys, games and outdoor adventures. With plenty of enrichment and social time, we'll have a lifetime of fun and love together! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Spirited 1-year-old feline Ari is as affectionate as they come. This black-and-white boy is determined to be by your side, giving and receiving love. His special request is time in your lap, where he can purr to his heart's content. Because he's been with us more than two months, Ari's adoption fees are waived. Meet him at our Dublin adoption center. The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on EBSPCA programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions online.

Baxter is a big, beautiful orange tabby. Weighing in at almost 19 pounds, he's the biggest cat at FAAS and in fact is significantly larger than some of the shelter's dogs. He's a giant ball of sweetness and affection that would love to spend time curling up on your lap and keeping you company. He's had lots of practice: He came to us at 9 years old, so he's a veteran of affection. Meet Baxter from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS). For more details, visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt online or call 510-337-8565.

Meet brothers Logan and Luke! These 6-month-old darlings with unique spot markings have waited far too long for a family. Bonded pairs take longer to adopt, but we can't separate them! Luke melts hearts as he purrs in your lap, while Logan, the gentle big brother, offers sweet, loyal love. Contact Lori at Whisker2love@gmail.com or 209-996-8870. Community Concern for Cats (CC4C) now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Walnut Creek and Martinez along with our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek. Visit communityconcernforcats.org online for more information.

Macadamia is a sweet little girl with eyes that will melt your heart. She loves children, adults and doggies too! Short walks, cuddles and belly rubs are her faves. Macadamia has a lot of love in her small little body, and she's looking for her forever family. Is that you? Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. any day but Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. This darling, sweet, cuddle-loving, affectionate boy is Cesar. He's a gentle soul that loves wearing his jammies and modeling them with pride. Cesar's a big boy, an interesting mix of pit bull and Maremma sheepdog, good on a leash and super-friendly with people and other dogs. We're looking for a home for him where he can continue enjoying adventures and affectionate moments with his new owner. For more information about Cesar or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa (CCSPCA), call Pat at 925-323-0667.
