Hanover Chili Cook Off brings the spice to Moul Field on Sunday

The Exchange Club of Hanover will host the 29Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at the Moul Field Complex, 151 Moul Ave., Hanover.

There will be contests for best traditional red chili, chili verde, homestyle chili and vegetarian chili, all judged by International Chili Society standards. The winners will be the Pennsylvania state champions and will move on to the 2026 ICS World Championship Chili Cook Off.

There will also be a youth red chili competition as well as the Ultimate Business Chili Challenge for local businesses to compete for bragging rights, a People's Choice Award, Showmanship Award and the Last Cook Standing Award for a booth with enough chili to last until 4 p.m.

Along with sampling the chili, those attending will see three live bands throughout the day as well as a cornhole tournament, jalepeno eating contest, comedian dunk tank and more. New this year is a mechanical bull riding contest.

Food trucks and beer vendors will be on hand. Valid photo ID is required for alcohol sales, and no outside coolers, alcohol, tents or pets are allowed, but those attending can bring chairs.

Admission is $12 in advance, $15 at the gate, free for children 12 and under and for military members with valid ID. Admission and beverage tickets are cash only. Proceeds go to local nonprofits. Parking is $5, or park at Hillside Medical Center, 250 Fame Ave., Hanover, and take the free shuttle to the event.
