Inside Princess Beatrice's second pregnancy

The couple split their time between London and their £3.5m Cotswold pad

PRINCESS Beatrice will soon be welcoming her second child with property developer husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The 36-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced in October that she was pregnant and expecting a baby in spring.

The couple welcomed daughter Sienna, three, in 2021 - but Edoardo also has son Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, eight, from a previous relationship.

Buckingham Palace announced the happy news alongside an image of loved-up Bea and Ed.

They said in a statement: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three."

Princess Beatrice joined the royal family at Sandringham after changing her travel plans due to medical advice.

Beatrice and Edoardo had planned on spending the festive period overseas with his family, but she was guided to avoid travelling long distances.

The couple joined royal festivities in a "change of plans" after Andrew pulled out after his "close confidant" Chinese "spy" was unmasked.

A close friend of Princess Beatrice said that motherhood came "very naturally" for the royal.

Celebrity nutritionist Gabriela Peacock told Hello!: "Bea has such a good heart and she's such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she's a fantastic mum."

She also praised Beatrice for being a step-mum to Wolfie, who Edoardo shares with ex-partner Dara Huang.

Gabriela added: "She is extremely nurturing and involved with both kids' lives. It's lovely to see my best friend growing into this next stage of her life and to share it with her.

"Sienna is absolutely gorgeous and looks exactly like Bea. She's really cheeky and has a very good personality.

"She has a lovely family life, she's extremely successful in her career and she has a nice social life. I don't think I've ever seen her so happy.

"She's got the best husband, and she and Edo are a perfect couple and great team. They are so happy and in love and complement each other so well."

Beatrice and Edoardo are said to be currently splitting their time between their London apartment at St James's Palace and their £3.5million country home in the Cotswolds.

The incredible pad boasts six bedrooms and numerous reception rooms, which are perfect for hosting guests and royal family members.

Beatrice works in a full-time role as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at tech firm Afiniti.

Meanwhile, Edoardo launched his own property development and interior company, Banda Property, when he was 23.

Once a fixture at A-list parties and known for his indulgence in the finer things, Prince Andrew now finds himself largely confined to the Royal Lodge, a 30-bedroom mansion on the Windsor estate, which he shares with his former wife Sarah.

It is believed that the Prince now leans on "protective" Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, 34.

A source told Hello! Magazine: "The girls take the grandchildren to visit him most weekends.

"They are spending far more time with him now than they have done in recent years.

"They are quite close to their father; they seem to be quite protective towards him."

Edo's ex Dara opened up about how Beatrice and Edo co-parent Wolfie, and praised their efforts.

The Florida-born architect and designer told Harper's Bazaar: "Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, 'The more, the merrier.'

"I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him -- because it didn't have to be so easy."

"It's all about your point of view. I don't understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn't make any sense. It's about creating a happy home and lifestyle."

Beatrice became the first British royal family member of her generation to become a stepparent when she married Edoardo in 2020.

A source told PEOPLE at the time: "Beatrice is a wonderful and very hands-on stepmum."

Princess Beatrice spoke about bonding with Wolfie over books during Covid as she opened up on World Book Day in April 2021.

She said: "This year, I had the great honor to become a stepmother and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favorite stories at bedtime."

Although it's not known where Beatrice will give birth, she could once again book into a private wing of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London like she did for Sienna.

Here, a private birth can cost between £6,475 and £10,650.

Prices in the private Kensington Wing vary depending on if the new mum opts for midwife-led or consultant care.

If they want consultant-led care, the cheapest package is the "vaginal delivery package", which costs £6,475.

The most expensive package is the "platinum emergency or elective section package", which is £9,050.

Meanwhile, for mums wanting midwife-led care, the cheapest package is the £8,775 "vaginal delivery package", while the most expensive is the £10,650 "platinum emergency or elective section package".

The hospital boasts £75 bottles of champagne and smoked salmon for a post-birth snack, as well as state-of-the-art TVs and luxurious walk-in showers.
