Two Texas airports fare better than most of the nation's airports when it comes to weather-related delays during the holidays, a new study from Austin-based travel company Upgraded Points found.
Using air travel data compiled by the federal Bureau of Transportation Statistics from 2019 to 2024, the study focused on November to January and looked at how many delays or cancellations were caused by the weather. It found that holiday travel through the smaller airports in Dallas and Houston were among the least affected by weather-related delays. Houston's Hobby Airport had a weather-related delay rate of only 12.3%, while Love Field in Dallas had a weather-related delay rate of 12.7%.
