Major Match Confirmed For AEW Double Or Nothing: Here's The Updated Card

All Elite Wrestling has officially added a major stipulation match to its upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view, announcing that "Anarchy in the Arena" will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona. The confirmation came after recent developments on AEW programming saw Swerve Strickland issue a challenge to Jon Moxley on Dynamite, with Moxley accepting via a video message on Collision.

The highly anticipated match will pit a team led by Jon Moxley against a team captained by Swerve Strickland. While AEW has not yet officially confirmed the full list of participants for each side, ongoing storylines provide clues as to who might be involved. Moxley's contingent could see involvement from Gabe Kidd, who recently interfered on his behalf, members of The Elite such as the Young Bucks or Kazuchika Okada, Marina Shafir, or fellow Death Riders Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli.

Speculation for Swerve Strickland's partners points towards potential allies like Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, or Willow Nightingale, among other AEW stars who could align with him against Moxley's faction. The exact composition of each team is expected to be revealed as the pay-per-view approaches this Sunday.

This upcoming bout marks the sixth time a major team-based spectacle will be featured at an AEW Double or Nothing event. The tradition began with the Stadium Stampede match, which was held in 2020 and 2021. The inaugural Stadium Stampede in 2020 saw The Elite and Matt Hardy triumph over The Inner Circle at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville. The following year, The Inner Circle emerged victorious against The Pinnacle in the second Stadium Stampede, also held at the same venue.

Following the Stadium Stampede era, the "Anarchy in the Arena" concept was introduced. The first such match in 2022 featured the Jericho Appreciation Society defeating the Blackpool Combat Club. In 2023, the Blackpool Combat Club evened the score by defeating The Elite. The most recent Anarchy in the Arena match, in 2024, saw The Elite overcome a formidable team comprised of Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, and FTR.

The Anarchy in the Arena match adds another high-stakes encounter to an already stacked card for the 2025 Double or Nothing event. Several other championship and grudge matches have been announced for the Glendale show.

Among the other featured bouts, Toni Storm will defend her AEW Women's World Championship against Mina Shirakawa. The finals of both the men's and women's Owen Hart Foundation tournaments are also set, with Will Ospreay facing Hangman Page in the men's final, and Mercedes Moné taking on Jamie Hayter in the women's final.

Additionally, The Hurt Syndicate will put their AEW Tag Team Championships on the line against the duo of Sammy Guevara & Dustin Rhodes. A personal rivalry will culminate in a Stretcher match between Ricochet and Mark Briscoe, and FTR is scheduled to compete against the team of Nigel McGuiness & Daniel Garcia.
