Emmerdale's Lawrence Robb breaks silence on Mackenzie Boyd twist as he teases horror outcome - Manchester Evening News

Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has teased fans on the outcome of his latest storyline as he spoke for the first time since his character was confirmed to be alive following death fears.

Those who follow the ITV soap best know the actor for playing Mackenzie Boyd. But viewers were recently led to believe that the character had been killed off after he got close to unravelling the truth about killer John Sugden.

As Emmerdale fans know, Mack's relationship with Charity Dingle recently hit a snag when she offered to be her granddaughter Sarah Sugden's surrogate.

With him recently confessing that he wasn't really on board with the surrogacy plan, despite Charity now being pregnant, Mack was told to leave his home and stay with his sister, Moria Dingle, by Charity.

Wallowing, Mack was seen deciding to take the train to London for a party. He accepted a lift to the train station from John and while in his van, Mack looked at a photo album and saw John pictured with the guy who was hired to remove the late Nate Robinson's belongings.

The penny soon dropped for Mack, as fans know that Nate was revealed to have been murdered - but only they know that it was John who was responsible for his tragic death.

Things then weren't looking good for Mack after he was chased and attacked by John. There was a moment of relief when it appeared that Mack might just get away. But as John quipped that he's "always one step ahead", in violent scenes, John shot a crossbow through Mack's chest.

Pleading for his life, Mack promised not to expose John's secret, but fans saw John seemingly hit Mack over the head with a rock before the closing moments episode appeared to show that Mack's body was stashed away in the back of John's van.

But it wasn't until Emmerdale's Friday (August 29) episode that it was confirmed Mack had actually survived the ordeal, but has been stowed away by John in an underground bunker somewhere near the remote cottage.

With Charity Dingle thinking her husband has gone to London, will Mack be saved anytime soon? Ahead of another week of dramatic episodes, Lawrence has spoken for the first time about the twist.

The soap star said: "I'm glad the secret that Mack isn't quite dead (yet) is over. I have felt slightly deceitful over the last two weeks when people have asked me about his death.

"Whilst I have enjoyed being somewhat of an enigma over that time, I'm really looking forward to seeing how the drama we shot is received on screen."

He added, mentioning John Sugden star Oliver Farnwroth: "Both Ollie and I really enjoyed shooting it, so hopefully the jeopardy of Mack's position will keep the audience gripped!"
