COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is set to make his first start in college on Saturday, and he'll have history stacked against him.
Per FOX, quarterbacks vs. No. 1 opponents since 2010 are 0-16 when making their starting debuts. Sayin will be the one to try and get in the win column.
The Longhorns head to Columbus as the No. 1 team in the nation, led by former five-star quarterback Arch Manning. While Manning isn't one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the SEC, he'll try to outduel Sayin, who doesn't have more than a few snaps to his college career.
Sayin will be aided by the fact that he's playing at home, and he has the best wide receiving corps in the nation.
But history indicates it's a tough task for any quarterback against the No. 1 team in the nation.
It appears that an SEC officiating crew will be on hand to call the matchup between Ohio State and Texas.
Per SEC Officiating on social media, the SEC crew will head to Columbus to call the top three matchup. An SEC crew was on the call for the National Championship Game for Ohio State's win over Notre Dame.
Big Ten officials will be on the call for Tennessee vs. Syracuse.
