Architect-turned-designer Duha Bukadi is making a notable move with Duha, her nascent footwear line.
The Dubai-based brand launched at Level Shoes this week -- following her debut at Paris Fashion Week this fall.
"We're excited to start at Level because, as a brand based in Dubai, it's an honor to be supported in our home country before we go global, Bukadi said. "Being at Level aligns with our vision of building a strong brand and helps us raise awareness and connect with our customers to build a community."
Born in Tunisia, the creative previously designed spaces across Africa and Middle East. During the pandemic, she pivoted into a different design field -- footwear.
The made-in-Italy designs -- rooted in structure and utility -- are inspired by Bukadi's architectural background, with sculptural heels, geometric designs and playful embellishments. Mules retail for under $400, while sandals start at around $500.
Two years ago, Bukadi was a finalist in the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards, a recognition that helped her gain recognition.
Heading into 2025, the brand is planning a series of partnerships and trunk shows to fuel growth both in the Middle East and internationally.
"We are bringing a strong product and creative vision to build a home for confident women with a global identity," the designer said. "We are having a lot of fun building the Duha world where people are not taking themselves seriously, and where we want to communicate this state of mind to our community."
