Mbadi Tells Ruto to Ignore Critics, "One-term Talk is an Illusion" - Nairobi Wire

Speaking during the president's tour of Siaya County on Sunday, August 31, 2025, Mbadi praised Ruto for promoting inclusivity and ensuring development reaches regions long neglected.

"You have earned the friendship of this county, as you have demonstrated you care and you don't want to see this region lag behind. I have worked with you for one year now, and I know your government is one of inclusivity. What is happening in Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, and Homa Bay is also happening in other parts of the country," he said.

CS Mbadi encouraged Ruto to remain focused on his agenda, saying his opponents will be surprised by the outcome.

"Those who read social media and sit in a corner to talk about one term: you will be shocked. The talk is an illusion. You're going to get your second term. What you need to do is to focus and continue with the work you are doing for Kenyans," Mbadi added.

The former National Assembly Minority Leader also reaffirmed his support for the government's e-procurement platform, describing it as a game changer in saving resources and curbing theft of public funds.

"I am also not getting distracted to implement e-procurement. EGP is the way to cut wastage in government. Make sure you move around to work with officers to implement this system," he urged.

His remarks came a day after President Ruto dismissed the opposition's newly adopted chants during a function in Nandi County on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

"Si tulikuwa na ingine ya Tibim, Tialala, tuko sasa na Wantam Kasongo," the President said. "Tuta wanyorosha asubuhi na mapema. So, msikuwe na wasiwasi... Siasa ikianza, tutawaonyesha kivumbi. Eh, munaelewa?" he added.

Ruto at the same time mocked the opposition for lacking a clear strategy, policies, or a coherent agenda. He further warned the opposition to prepare for an early defeat in the next elections.
