Unranked Vermont has defied the odds as it reaches the NCAA men's soccer semifinals in Cary, N.C.
After downing unranked Iona, the Catamounts defeated No. 7 Hofstra on the road. They then traveled to San Diego, winning in overtime. The run didn't stop there. Vermont took down No. 2 Pittsburgh 2-0 in the quarterfinals to punch its ticket to Cary.
No. 3 Denver awaits the Catamounts in this neutral site game. Vermont has proven that it doesn't need home-field advantage to win playoff games, so this shouldn't change much about the team's approach.
Denver has made light work of its opponents thus far. The team hasn't allowed one goal in the three games, winning 3-0, 1-0, and 3-0 en route to the semifinals.
