SUNRAY, Texas (KFDA) - Sunday morning the city of Sunray woke to some unexpected noises as a wrecking ball began demolishing what remains of the Skyland Grain Elevator.
The Skyland Grain elevator exploded March 28 leaving five employees injured.
According to Sunray officials, this comes as a complete surprise since they have yet to have any communication with Skyland Grain since the initial incident.
Sunray City Council Member Mason Overstreet says Skyland Grain started the demolition with no warnings.
The company did not have to obtain a city permit due to previous council getting rid of permits.
NewsChannel 10 has reached out to Skyland Grain on its plans for the structure and property, but we have not heard back at this time.
We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
