The 2025 NCAA Division I softball tournament has reached the super regional round, and with that comes a slew of SEC vs. SEC matchups for a spot in the Women's College World Series. Among those matchups is a rematch between No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 15 Alabama.
The No. 2 Sooners (48-7) are in search of their fifth consecutive NCAA title, with a title this year being the second straight time the Sooners have won the championship as the No. 2 seed. Oklahoma swept its regional opponents, including beating California twice, to advance to its 15th consecutive super regional.
No. 15 Alabama (40-21) punched its ticket to the supers by defeating Jackson State and Virginia State twice -- including a 3-2 win in the championship game on Sunday. The win marked the Crimson Tide's 21st trip to the super regional round and their 17th time going undefeated in the regional round.
These two teams last met the weekend of April 12th in Tuscaloosa, where the Crimson Tide took two of the three games that weekend to seal the series win. This will also be the first time the Sooners will host the Crimson Tide at Love's Field. Oklahoma is 25-2 at home, while Alabama is 8-9 on the road.
