GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A recent internet outage happened near Grovetown because someone stole the cable.
The theft was reported Sunday in the 600 block of Horizon Parkway, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
AT&T was notified that there was an internet outage in the area, so it sent an employee out to see what happened. He found that about 200 feet of fiber internet lines and copper cable had been cut and stolen.
The company had to replace about 350 feet of cable because the cuts had been made in the middle of the lines connecting to the utility poles.
