LSU Takes Over Top Spot in On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings

LSU Takes Over Top Spot in On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings

The LSU Tigers have taken over the top spot of the 2026 On3 Industry rankings, leapfrogging the USC Trojans on Wednesday.

The On3 Industry rankings are one of the best ways to judge how good a team's recruiting class is. It uses rankings from On3, 247, Rivals and ESPN to produce an unbiased ranking, and as of today, the Tigers own the top spot in the industry rankings.

The LSU Tigers and USC Trojans have been battling for that top spot for the past couple weeks, but after Lincoln Riley and Co. lost out on five-star linebacker, Xavier Griffin, who decommitted earlier this week, Brian Kelly's squad took over the top spot despite having 18 less commits than the Trojans.

LSU's 2026 class includes two five-stars in wide receiver Tristen Keys and defensive lineman Richard Anderson. They also hold commitments from three other top-100 recruits: cornerback Havon Finney, wide receiver Jabari Mack and safety Aiden Hall.

In 2025, the Tigers had an early grasp on the top spot in rankings with commitments from guys like Bryce Underwood and Dakorien Moore, but they were unable to hold onto either of those five-stars, who flipped their commitment to Michigan and Oregon respectively after receiving massive NIL offers.

This year, Brian Kelly has the NIL support he needs to build and maintain the top class in the country. They've always been very good at building relationships and establishing trust with these young athletes, so if they can play the money game, they should be in the running for the top class every year.
