Syracuse football: Orange in the NFL roster news

The NFL roster cut-downs have been completed and we now know which former Orange have secured spots on either the 53 man roster, or practice squads to start the 2025 season. Here's the list we'll be tracking this season:

Arizona Cardinals: Garrett Williams

Williams should see be in line to start in Arizona's secondary.

Atlanta Falcons: Matthew Bergeron

Bergeron is anticipated to start for the Falcons.

Cleveland Browns: Andre Szmyt

Szmyt takes the job from veteran Dustin Hopkins after a perfect pre-season.

Dallas Cowboys: Justin Barron and Alijah Clark

Both Orange defenders will start on the practice squad in Dallas.

Detroit Lions: Jackson Meeks

Meeks had an outstanding pre-season and will be on the Lions practice squad to start 2025

Indianapolis Colts: Zaire Franklin and Max Mang

Franklin should be in the starting line-up for the Colts in week one and Mang stays in Indy as their international player on the practice squad.

Jacksonville Jaguars: LeQuint Allen

Allen will be on the Jaguars opening week roster where he's expected to see action on special teams and 3rd down situations.

LA Chargers: Oronde Gadsden and Marlowe Wax

Wax battles from his undrafted free agent status to breaking camp on the Chargers roster. Gadsden will be

Miami Dolphins: Iffy Melifonwu and Isaiah Johnson

Miami starts the season with two former Orange in their secondary.

New England Patriots: Tommy DeVito

DeVito was waived by the Giants but he lands in New England behind Drake Maye and Josh Dobbs

New Orleans Saints: Fadil Diggs

Diggs will stay in New Orleans on the practice squad.

New York Jets: Andre Cisco

Cisco will be a starting safety in his first season back home in NY.

Philadelphia Eagles: Kyle McCord

McCord was released after the Sam Howell acquisition but he clears waivers and returns to Philly's practice squad.

Seattle Seahawks: Courtney Jackson

Jackson was cut by Denver but lands in Seattle on the practice squad.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Riley Dixon and Sean Tucker

Tucker will be a backup to Bucky Irving while Dixon is going to be launching cannonballs from his right foot in Tampa.
