OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) - Governor Kevin Stitt has released an update on ongoing investigations into the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health.
The audit stems from earlier this month when the agency reported it would be unable to make payroll.
The Governor received an initial report today, May 19, on the agency and identified a nearly $30 million funding need for fiscal year 2025.
In addition, the report outlined 52 recommendations to stabilize the department.
Some of those recommendations include hiring a chief financial officer and internal auditor and expanding training to encourage accountability and transparency.
