SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Police Department (SPD) is investigating a single-vehicle crash on Kansas Expressway near West Calhoun Street late Friday night that killed one person.
According to SPD, just after 10:30 p.m., a 2003 Chevy Silverado was driving north on Kansas Expressway when the truck traveled across the southbound lane and crashed into a backyard on 1311 N. Kansas Expressway.
Officers at the scene found the driver unresponsive and removed them from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation by SPD.
