According to corporate.target.com , a new store is planned for south Fargo near the northwest intersection of Interstate 29 and 52nd Avenue South.
Currently near that site are a Planet Fitness, Aldi, Les Schwab Tire Center and a Holiday gas station.
There was no indication on a timeline or whether it would be a Super Target. The listing did state the new space would be approximately 133,000 square feel, about the size of a standard Target store. Another new location is listed for Brookings, South Dakota.
The site listed 39 new locations, nut no other new locations listed for North Dakota, South Dakota or Minnesota.
Fargo currently has one Target store at 13th Avenue South and 42nd Street. Moorhead has a Target store at 3301 Highway 10 E.
Fargo's 13th Avenue Target was opened in 1977. It was most recently expanded in 2021 and is now listed at 145,885 square feet, according to the city of Fargo's assessment information.
The Moorhead store opened in 1990 and is listed by the city at 87,890 square feet.
Target is based in Minnesota, with headquarters in Minneapolis. It's first store opened in 1962 in Roseville, Minnesota.
