Summer 2025: Hottest on Record in Britain Since 1884

London, September 1 (QNA) - The UK's Met Office announced today that the summer of 2025 was the hottest in Britain since official records began in 1884.

The agency stated that similar hot weather is likely in the future due to human-induced climate change.

According to the Met Office, the average temperature across the UK during June, July, and August of this year was 16.10 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record of 15.76 degrees Celsius set in 2018.

Countries worldwide have experienced record-breaking temperatures in recent years as global warming intensifies, with the summer of 2024 now considered the hottest on a global scale.

In Europe, severe heatwaves this summer contributed to wildfires that led to a number of deaths in countries including Spain and Portugal. (QNA)
