Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 series will not feature upgraded RAM or storage. This news comes from a prominent industry tipster. The information was shared online this week.
This decision means the S26 lineup matches the S25's memory configurations exactly. Many users have requested higher base memory for years. According to Reuters, component costs are a major factor in such decisions.
The leak specifies the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models. They will come in 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. The top-tier S26 Ultra will also offer a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant.
This configuration is identical to the current Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, the high-end 16GB+1TB model will reportedly be exclusive to China. This regional limitation has frustrated potential buyers in other markets.
The tipster suggests this is a deliberate market strategy. Samsung offers higher specs only in regions with strong consumer demand for them. In other markets, the company maintains existing tiers to maximize profitability.
This approach leaves many loyal customers feeling overlooked. The only performance upgrade appears to be faster memory speeds. This change may improve camera performance but does not address the core demand for more RAM.
