Just after midnight May 12, two Piscataway police officers pulled an impaired driver from their disabled vehicle moments before a train struck it.
The 2025 Skyland Conference Softball All-Star Game rosters have been finalized for this year's event, with seniors from across the league getting the chance to represent their schools on the diamond one last time.
The game is slated for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, sponsored by and being held at Diamond Nation in Raritan Township.
The All-Star contest will match Team America, coached by Bridgewater-Raritan's Sandy Baranowski, who is in her 28th and final season at the Panthers helm, against Team National, which is being skippered by Montgomery head coach Bryan Upshaw.
Baranowski will be assisted by Hunterdon Central's Kelly Reider and Delaware Valley's Asa Whitaker, while Upshaw will be assisted by Brian Figueiredo of Watchung Hills and Brian McCarthy of Ridge.
The game will go nine innings, giving each player a chance to play the field, with each team's entire roster batting in order throughout the contest.
This year's honorees were chosen by based on nominations from the league's 23 coaches.
